The magnetic resonance guided focused ultrasound surgery (MRgFUS) is a promising and rapidly developing technique in the bone applications. To achieve therapeutic success, however, is necessary the correct selection of the lesion to be treated and of the patient. The purpose of this review is to describe the technical aspects of the treatment, to identify the principles for proper patient selection and to illustrate the main applications in the musculoskeletal (MSK) field of MRgFUS in our department in the light of some years of experience.

Abstract
