In situ and laboratory test data from normally consolidated alluvial soils, deposited along the Tevere River about 15 km from the coastline, are analyzed and compared. Attention is focused on the sandy and silty layers, for which CPTU, SCPTU, SDMT, Cross-Hole, identification and resonant column data are available. The aim is to search strain levels associated to DMT and CPT tests and also to derive moduli decay curves for practical use in soil-structure interaction analyses.

Abstract

In situ and laboratory test data from normally consolidated alluvial soils, deposited along the Tevere River about 15 km from the coastline, are analyzed and compared. Attention is focused on the sandy and silty layers, for which CPTU, SCPTU, SDMT, Cross-Hole, identification and resonant column data are available. The aim is to search strain levels associated to DMT and CPT tests and also to derive moduli decay curves for practical use in soil-structure interaction analyses.
