The paper focuses on a particular interpretation of Elena Ferrante’s novel L’Amica geniale, that has been translated into different medias, as tv-serie and theatre. The italian theatrical company Fanny and Alexander has realised a play in three chapters called Storia di un’amicizia, in which the friendship between Lila and Lenù is observed with different languages: visual art, music, poetry and dance. According to its vision, the theatrical company represents the two carachters and their relationship in a symbolic way. In this interpretation of the novel the company gives a crucial role to the children’s dolls, who are the double of the little girls.
