The use of radioimmunoguided techinques in oncological surgery helps to achieve a high level of therapeutic efficiency since the execution of a selective radical removal of the tumour is possible. The growing use of surgical techniques tending towards complete removal of the tumour and at the same time safeguarding anatomical structures essential to normal intercourse, justifies the intraoperative assessment by means of labelled monoclonal antibodies.
