Abstract

The spatial and social transformations and modifications occurred in the context of the City of L'Aquila as a result of emergency measures in the Abruzzo Earthquake of 2009, gave rise to an original post-urban form, difficult to interpret and to govern, resulting from an approach “not planned” and therefore unsustainable. This consideration places at the center of the disciplinary discussion, the recovery of a general vision of the development, the need to intervene through an overall plan capable of addressing and canalize all those episodes in an overall design. It is necessary to move from a development approach based on many Urban Projects disconnected to an approach based on a Comprehensive Urban Project, relative also to the territory of the city, capable of governing the issues of development in systemic terms, able to ensure the protection of the environment and landscape-cultural mosaic.
