In this paper the k-sets of class [0,1,2,q+1]_1 and type (teta_1teta_h-1,2teta_h-1)_2h in a projective space of dimension 2h+1, h>0, and order q are investigated. In particular the Corrado Segre variety S_1xS_2 in a projective space of dimension five and order q>3 is characterized.
