Following the 2009 earthquake, an intense activity of building reconstruction has developed in the historical town of L'Aquila, an Italian Province, and its neighboring villages. Reconstruction activity is complex because of constraints and influences that affect the decision-making aspects and management of the working activities. It is therefore evident that the implementation process must necessarily be planned according to methods and rigorous tools. This paper aims to illustrate the research work done in some case studies, in order to analyze and classify the main critical issues encountered during the post-earthquake reconstruction process. Following these analyses, a synthesis process has been elaborated for the identification of the intervention strategies. Finally, a real construction site project has been developed aiming at being comprehensive but also flexible and suitable, to cope with the contingencies generated by the place and the development of the intervention methods. The elaboration of this project pursues the goal of making the reconstruction process efficient in relation to logistics, planning and safety.
