We evaluated the possibility to associate conventional surgery of non concomitant squint to the use of botulinic toxin and exercises of ocular motility in 12 patients (7 M, 5 I;). The results showed that strabismus angle was greatly reduced to less than 8 prismatic diopters (PD) in 4 patients and less than 4 PD in 8 patients. In all cases the Compensatory Head Postures (CNP) was reduced or totally eliminated. We conclude that this technique is very useful and successful.

Abstract

We evaluated the possibility to associate conventional surgery of non concomitant squint to the use of botulinic toxin and exercises of ocular motility in 12 patients (7 M, 5 I;). The results showed that strabismus angle was greatly reduced to less than 8 prismatic diopters (PD) in 4 patients and less than 4 PD in 8 patients. In all cases the Compensatory Head Postures (CNP) was reduced or totally eliminated. We conclude that this technique is very useful and successful.
