We studied 6 Emergency Care Units (ECU) (data of 2005) and 4 ambulance services (118) in Abruzzo (data of the three years 2003- 2005): we gathered by direct collection sanitary performances carried out and number of accidents (data of two years 2004-2005 of a hospital). We have found an increase of the performances from the first one to the third year of observation and in summer in 118. In the ECU, the number of the accesses varied in function of residents with high incidence of performances with exposure to biological risk and manual handling activities.
