In this work a smart sensorial panel with innovative characteristics is presented. It is realized from waste, in particular from the industrial processing of paper and cardboard and embeds a series of wireless and battery-free sensors. The system is able to monitor the environmental conditions of the panel itself in terms of temperature and moisture. In addition, it shows localization capability for safety monitoring in the workspaces thanks to the embedded RFID tag. All communications as well as power supply are possible thanks to a dedicated reader. These characteristics make the panel very easy to be installed and of in-terest for industry 4.0.

Abstract

In this work a smart sensorial panel with innovative characteristics is presented. It is realized from waste, in particular from the industrial processing of paper and cardboard and embeds a series of wireless and battery-free sensors. The system is able to monitor the environmental conditions of the panel itself in terms of temperature and moisture. In addition, it shows localization capability for safety monitoring in the workspaces thanks to the embedded RFID tag. All communications as well as power supply are possible thanks to a dedicated reader. These characteristics make the panel very easy to be installed and of in-terest for industry 4.0.
