The fortress of Calascio is an architecture in symbiosis with the mountain context. The growing tourist flow risks triggering transformations that can compromise the authenticity and charm of the site. Interventions that balance the needs of conservation and development can start from the recognition of the unity between monument and landscape and from an archaeological restoration approach of the architectural portions in ruins, giving up excessively reconstructive or invasive interventions.
