Lo studio delle varianti testuali trasmesse dalla tradizione manoscritta per il testo dell'Inno omerico ad Apollo dimostra che queste hanno un'origine rapsodica legata al contesto e all'occasione della performance per cui l'Inno fu esguito nella sua forma 'monumentale': le feste delio-pitiche celebrate a Delo nel 523 o 522 a. C. per volere del tiranno samio Policrate, con tutti i risvolti ideologici legati alla sua politica e alla sua propaganda.

Abstract
The inquiry of the textual variants transmitted by the manuscriot tradition for the text of the Homeric Hymn to Apollo demosnstrates their rhapsodic origin. This origin is related to a specific occasion: the performance of the Hymn with its monumental structure (Delian Hymn + Pythian Hymn) at the Delian-Pythian festivals celebrated in Delos, in 523 or 522 BC, for the will of the Samian Tyrant Polycrates.
