Daylight control is important to maintain adequate visual comfort in indoor environments, moreover providing energy efficiency for the lighting system. In this paper, the design of a low power Daylight Control System (DLCS) is presented. The aim of this work is the development of a low power electronic prototype system for the management of luminaires using Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI). It is designed to allow a comfortable user experience with respect to other DLCS solutions that require a more complex setup and configuration. The proposed system was employed with success in regulating the luminaire power to maintain the illuminance values on the work plane as the daylight varied during the test. Comparing the proposed system to other state-of-the-art DALI-based units, the power dissipation proved to be minor, and the user accessibility good.
