Abstract

The historical centers of Abruzzo's municipalities located in the so-called "seismic crater" represent a problematic context in which to intervene for the upgrading and management of grids and infrastructures. This research aims to provide an operational tool that can support municipal administrations and technicians by managing the upgrading process from the design phase to the implementation and monitoring of efficient works of grids systems through the development of guidelines to be implemented in the municipalities. Within this scope, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographic Information System (GIS) enable the effective organization and management of information and data during the entire design and construction stages. The resulting information models are expected to be crucial in the complex monitoring and management of the infrastructures once realized and operating.
