The theme of thermo-hygrometric comfort in architectural heritage involves aspects related to the design and management of heating systems and the monitoring of the indoor microclimate in order to guarantee the correct conservation of historical-artistic values. In this sector, the case of historical church heating represents a specific field of investigation and application of the norm, as both the discontinuous use of the places and the peculiar architectural conformation of the environments mean that plant retrofit interventions, if applicable, must be designed respecting specific procedures which presuppose the knowledge of the historical microclimate. The plant retrofit of the churches in L'Aquila, derogating from this need due to the enormous damage suffered by the structures following the 2009 earthquake, which prevented the correct characterization of the microclimate before the intervention, deserves to be paid attention to and analyzed through appropriate monitoring campaigns in order to ensure correct maintenance of the structures and the protection of artefacts.

Abstract
The theme of thermo-hygrometric comfort in architectural heritage involves aspects related to the design and management of heating systems and the monitoring of the indoor microclimate in order to guarantee the correct conservation of historical-artistic values. In this sector, the case of historical church heating represents a specific field of investigation and application of the norm, as both the discontinuous use of the places and the peculiar architectural conformation of the environments mean that plant retrofit interventions, if applicable, must be designed respecting specific procedures which presuppose the knowledge of the historical microclimate. The plant retrofit of the churches in L'Aquila, derogating from this need due to the enormous damage suffered by the structures following the 2009 earthquake, which prevented the correct characterization of the microclimate before the intervention, deserves to be paid attention to and analyzed through appropriate monitoring campaigns in order to ensure correct maintenance of the structures and the protection of artefacts.Pubblicazioni consigliate
