Storytelling, polar and crime: how the crime beat evolves into showbusiness· The aim of this article is to show the influence of narrative structure on the narration of crime beat. The study analyzes how journalistic speech of crime is involved into fictional rhetoric, especially concerning both the selection and the disposition of the elements. The author tries to explain the transformation of the news in showbusiness through Debord's critical approach: the spectacle, according to the philosopher, is not just a visual content, but a "social relation" among people, rising from the images.The paper examines two main ways in which detection fiction deeply affects the crime news: the former regards the content of reporting and shows how the crime chronicle evolves into myth and ideology (for instance, observing the killers' criminal epic of "Uno bianca"); the latter concerns the strategies of communication used by the reporters when they face crime beat.
