This paper focuses on the mountain architectural heritage of Abruzzo in the second half of the twentieth century, particularly on the planned ski resorts for mass tourism. Many of these initiatives did not go beyond the project stage, others remained incomplete and almost all of them had no overall programming to control their development and results. Prati di Tivo, a ski resort on the Gran Sasso, embodies all these factors. The incipient evolution of the 1960s, which led to the construction of ski lift and accommodation facilities on an virgin territory, came to an abrupt halt in the following decades, leaving much of the architecture in a state of abandonment. Architectural experience is complemented, especially in the case of unfinished buildings, by archival documentation, an indispensable resource for understanding the economic and social dynamics of specific places and the architectural characteristics of this Heritage. The systematic inventory and digitisation of the often unpublished archival documentation on the design and management process of such constructions, is essential for the conscious and sustainable reuse of the built heritage, as well as for the preservation of the documents. Their inclusion in an open source digital inventory completes their potential of use and implementation.

Abstract
Their inclusion in an open source digital inventory completes their potential of use and implementation.Pubblicazioni consigliate
