Betocchi, de Libero e la poesia degli anni Sessanta e Settanta (con due lettere inedite sul "Quaderno" di Montale)

The essay examines the poetic production of Carlo Betocchi and Libero de Libero in the 1960s and 1970s, highlighting both the similarities and differences in their late style and their poetics of old age. The study of their unpublished correspondence brings to light their poetic reflections and critical readings of each other’s works, as well as those of other authors. Their friendship deepens in the 1970s, reinforced by converging literary ideas and mutual distancing from other poets. Particularly noteworthy are Betocchi’s role as editor of «L’Approdo Letterario», his misunderstanding of Vittorio Sereni’s "Strumenti umani", and the harsh criticisms of the Novissimi and Montale’s "Quaderno di quattro" anni shared by de Libero.
