In this study, the electromagnetic field (EMF) safety assessment of a dynamic wireless power transfer (DWPT) system during charging operations of a moving compact electric vehicle (EV) is evaluated. Specifically, different positions of the DWPT coils are considered to account for the in-motion EV for both aligned and misaligned configurations. Compliance with international safety standards has proven that reference levels are exceeded in the extreme case of a bystander near the car, while they are never exceeded for a passenger inside the car, at least for the considered scenarios. Future directions are also provided to reduce the exposure and improve EMF safety.

Abstract
In this study, the electromagnetic field (EMF) safety assessment of a dynamic wireless power transfer (DWPT) system during charging operations of a moving compact electric vehicle (EV) is evaluated. Specifically, different positions of the DWPT coils are considered to account for the in-motion EV for both aligned and misaligned configurations. Compliance with international safety standards has proven that reference levels are exceeded in the extreme case of a bystander near the car, while they are never exceeded for a passenger inside the car, at least for the considered scenarios. Future directions are also provided to reduce the exposure and improve EMF safety.Pubblicazioni consigliate
