The Background Oriented Schlieren (BOS) technique, which visualises refractive index changes, is gaining popularity because of its simplicity and effectiveness. This paper presents a simpliied BOS method using white light and straightforward data processing for measuring mass diffusion in binary liquid mixtures; some experimental results are given to support the proposal.
