DMT'15 The 3rd International Conference on the Flat Dilatometer

The 3rd International Conference on the Flat Dilatometer was held June 14-16, 2015 at the Parco dei Principi Grand Hotel in Rome (Italy). The 3rd conference followed the successful series of international Conferences held in Edmonton (1983) and Washington D.C. (2006). The theme of the Conference is the solution of geotechnical problems using the Flat Dilatometer Test (DMT). More and more in the years has emerged the centrality of the parameter Kd, one of the few in situ parameters able to provide information on stress history, whose knowledge is fundamental for reasonable predictions of settlements and liquefaction resistance. Another emerging trend is the necessity of an in situ multiparameter approach, because the soil has many unknowns. Appendix B of this book contains the Table of Contents of the 2006 Conference.
