This paper presents a model for the Multi User Interference of an IR-UWB system, which is more accurate than the commonly used SGA model and also of a recently proposed pulse collision model. In particular, the proposed model better describes the behaviour of the system in presence of power control. This model is then used to study the tradeoff performance/energy consumption in IR-UWB systems. An optimum value of the SNR is found, which maximizes the energy efficiency. The dependence of this maximum from some UWB system parameters is carried out.

Abstract
This paper presents a model for the Multi User Interference of an IR-UWB system, which is more accurate than the commonly used SGA model and also of a recently proposed pulse collision model. In particular, the proposed model better describes the behaviour of the system in presence of power control. This model is then used to study the tradeoff performance/energy consumption in IR-UWB systems. An optimum value of the SNR is found, which maximizes the energy efficiency. The dependence of this maximum from some UWB system parameters is carried out.File in questo prodotto:
