A 2D Finite element procedure is presented for the analysis of Permanent Magnet DC motor for automotive application. A 13.5 V, 2 pole motor for rear wiper is analyzed and the simulation results have been compared with experimental ones. Moreover a design optimization has been carried out in order to reduce the cogging torque.

Abstract
