A comprehensive experimental program was designed in order to investigate the durability properties of high-performance lightweight concrete. The concrete mixture was prepared in order to obtain an average compressive cylinder strength of about 70MPa at 28 days of age. Testing was carried out on a large number of lightweight concrete specimens. The following properties were investigated: compressive strength, creep, drying and autogenous shrinkage, water absorption, freezing-thawing resistance, air-void parameters, corrosion, carbonation, chloride-ion penetration, sulphate-ion penetration. The test results showed that high-performance lightweight concrete has considerable potential for the construction industry.

Abstract
A comprehensive experimental program was designed in order to investigate the durability properties of high-performance lightweight concrete. The concrete mixture was prepared in order to obtain an average compressive cylinder strength of about 70MPa at 28 days of age. Testing was carried out on a large number of lightweight concrete specimens. The following properties were investigated: compressive strength, creep, drying and autogenous shrinkage, water absorption, freezing-thawing resistance, air-void parameters, corrosion, carbonation, chloride-ion penetration, sulphate-ion penetration. The test results showed that high-performance lightweight concrete has considerable potential for the construction industry.Pubblicazioni consigliate
