The paper deals with the minimization of torque ripple in Synchronous Reluctance Motors. It presents the analysis for the torque prediction pointing out the differential inductances terms that heavily affects torque profile. The Finite Element Analysis (FEA) has been used to evaluate the inductances behavior with rotor position. The torque ripple has been reduced first with a rotor skewing, then with a rotor design optimization.
