In this study the results of magnetic tests, carried out by an experimental model device employing a High Critical Temperature bulk Superconductor (HTCS) ring above circular iron-magnetic guideway, are presented and discussed. The model device simulates, by analogy, the electromagnetic behaviour of magnetic levitation vehicle, using bulk HTCS on board, riding above the iron-magnetic guideway. In the wide range of work conditions magnetic levitation experiments were conducted and lift and drag forces were measured. Moreover numerical analyses by two-dimensional finite element parametric models were carried out; the results are presented in terms of levitation, guidance forces and flux density distribution.

Abstract
In this study the results of magnetic tests, carried out by an experimental model device employing a High Critical Temperature bulk Superconductor (HTCS) ring above circular iron-magnetic guideway, are presented and discussed. The model device simulates, by analogy, the electromagnetic behaviour of magnetic levitation vehicle, using bulk HTCS on board, riding above the iron-magnetic guideway. In the wide range of work conditions magnetic levitation experiments were conducted and lift and drag forces were measured. Moreover numerical analyses by two-dimensional finite element parametric models were carried out; the results are presented in terms of levitation, guidance forces and flux density distribution.Pubblicazioni consigliate
