This paper is intended to provide accurate analytical solutions of easy-handling for verification of large numerical codes modeling transient heat conduction processes for small values of the time. In particular, when the space and time coordinates satisfy a certain criterion, the well-known and easy-handled transient 1D semi-infinite solutions may be “used” for generating extremely accurate values for temperature and heat flux at interior points of a 2D semi-infinite solid. The proposed criterion is based on an accuracy of one part in 10^10 but can be made more or less accurate if desired.

Abstract
This paper is intended to provide accurate analytical solutions of easy-handling for verification of large numerical codes modeling transient heat conduction processes for small values of the time. In particular, when the space and time coordinates satisfy a certain criterion, the well-known and easy-handled transient 1D semi-infinite solutions may be “used” for generating extremely accurate values for temperature and heat flux at interior points of a 2D semi-infinite solid. The proposed criterion is based on an accuracy of one part in 10^10 but can be made more or less accurate if desired.File in questo prodotto:
