Abstract
In the context of Abruzzo after the earthquake, the historic building heritage of the smaller towns constitutes a relevant housing project the design of which must be addressed with a view to a “controlled transformation”. In the process of reconstruction and resettlement of a permanent nature existing assets may represent a diverse range of functional accommodation to meet the needs of a changing social model, defining a model of sustainable land use. In relation to changes in the residential settlement pattern and in the light of new models of life and family organisation, with the objective of re-defining new typological specifics, a methodological and operational process was developed that allows the definition of new morphological specifics of a residential nature through the analysis and selection of general and specialised categories of users; the definition of the timeframes for the different users and their translation into technical requisites; the definition specific meta-design living models and the evaluation of their compatibility with various types of buildings; the identification of the necessary and consistent functional and technological adaptation. The new typological specifics define themselves through a comparison made between the living model hired as a grid with a meta-design and the different keys of interpretation suggested by the operative context being investigated, avoiding simple actions of transfer and researching specific codes of feasibility design that ensure the identification of intervention action related to the systems built, to the spatial system and to the technological one. The close relationship between type, technology and project is employed in the analytical-operative methodology as the key to not only offer performance of the existing building, but also the address of speech and the corresponding project actions, aimed at restoring the lost quality and also the definition of quality to be integrated in order to increase the performance levels to meet the needs of more aware users, and to bring the housing stock to the current regulatory framework.Pubblicazioni consigliate
