The white ornamental stone from Poggio Picenze, known as “Pietra Gentile” is the lithotype more used in the architecture of L’Aquila from the XI to the XVII century in religious and civil buildings of great artistic and historic relevance. In the paper the chemical, physical, mechanical and technological characteristics of the stone from Poggio Picenze are reported before and after conservative treatments with eight different consolidant and water repellent polymeric products.

Abstract
