The effects of the steam explosion treatment on bioconversion of waste paper have been investigated. The treatments have been carried out in batch reactor with capacity of 0.5 Kg/cycle. Selected samples of waste paper have been tested for the bioconversion of cellulose into ethanol by a separate hydrolysis and fermentation (SHF) process. By using the enzyme hydrolysate in the fermentation stage, the efficiency of glucose conversion into ethanol reached a maximum of 77%. The addition of other components such as yeast extract, Na/K phosphate buffer salts in fermentation media raised the conversion value to 94% of the original glucose

Abstract
The effects of the steam explosion treatment on bioconversion of waste paper have been investigated. The treatments have been carried out in batch reactor with capacity of 0.5 Kg/cycle. Selected samples of waste paper have been tested for the bioconversion of cellulose into ethanol by a separate hydrolysis and fermentation (SHF) process. By using the enzyme hydrolysate in the fermentation stage, the efficiency of glucose conversion into ethanol reached a maximum of 77%. The addition of other components such as yeast extract, Na/K phosphate buffer salts in fermentation media raised the conversion value to 94% of the original glucoseFile in questo prodotto:
