This paper describes the vector control of a three phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive using the transputer. After reviewing the advantages of this solution, two of the possible vector control schemes for PMSM drives are considered: a widely diffused scheme based on the principle of Rotor Flux Oriented Control and a new scheme based on’ the principle of the Stator Flux Oriented Control. The design of the drive and the transputer implementation of both the control algorithms are presented, looking at concurrent programming problems. Experimental tests carried out on the control system with different implementations of the algorithms are also shown.

Abstract
This paper describes the vector control of a three phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive using the transputer. After reviewing the advantages of this solution, two of the possible vector control schemes for PMSM drives are considered: a widely diffused scheme based on the principle of Rotor Flux Oriented Control and a new scheme based on’ the principle of the Stator Flux Oriented Control. The design of the drive and the transputer implementation of both the control algorithms are presented, looking at concurrent programming problems. Experimental tests carried out on the control system with different implementations of the algorithms are also shown.Pubblicazioni consigliate
