Reported here the design of in-wheel electric motor for “zero emission” city bus with 15 passengers of carry capacity. Power train components of vehicle are based on a hybrid power unit consisting of a hydrogen fuel cell and flywheel energy storage system. The vehicle uses two separately in-wheel AC brushless electric motor with five pole pairs and 20 kW of power. A 2-D Finite Element model of the motor has been carried out and the performances in terms of torque and power are presented. Abstract

The diagrams of motion related to the bus transit are performed by varying the road slopes.
