Abstract
Small sized city buses with reduced capacity are suitable and necessary to improve the efficiency in the system of aboveground urban public transportation. The paper presents an automatic procedure for the design optimization of a Permanent Magnet (PM) Synchronous motor for small sized electric bus: the procedure combines the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with an optimization routine. The optimization has been formulated as constrained minimization of an "objective function" expressed in terms of motor design variables. A 22 kW, 6 pole, interior PM synchronous motor has been designed and realized and the experimental results are presented.Pubblicazioni consigliate
