Abstract

This paper aims to propose the principles of a new methodology to design of an advanced framework for detailed modeling and efficient testing of challenging networking scenarios, such as those involved in Mobile Ad-Hoc NeTworks (MANETs). Specifically, we expose the typical results which may be gotten from a simulation of a MANET in order to evaluate performance network or the overlapping between the behaviors of the implemented protocol and the expected behaviors. Afterwards, is proposed an alternative approach through which is defined a flexible architecture, that is able to account for requirements on detailed modeling of all protocol components and is intrinsically incline to closely monitor network performance through test reporting. Furthermore, our framework is oriented to support automatic code development for moving towards implementation.
