The problems related to Power Quality (PQ) are assuming a growing interest. As a consequence, both the utilities and the customers are oriented to use measurement distributed systems to monitor different points on the same or different electrical power systems. In this paper a measurement network infrastructure for power quality monitoring is presented. The main features of this architecture are a decentralization of control operations through the use of smart field instruments, the possibility to integrate different, commercial or noncommercial, devices and, when cabling is difficult or too expensive, the use of wireless connections. Results on test and monitoring activities are presented and discussed.

Abstract
The problems related to Power Quality (PQ) are assuming a growing interest. As a consequence, both the utilities and the customers are oriented to use measurement distributed systems to monitor different points on the same or different electrical power systems. In this paper a measurement network infrastructure for power quality monitoring is presented. The main features of this architecture are a decentralization of control operations through the use of smart field instruments, the possibility to integrate different, commercial or noncommercial, devices and, when cabling is difficult or too expensive, the use of wireless connections. Results on test and monitoring activities are presented and discussed.Pubblicazioni consigliate
