Well-aligned TiO(2) nanofibers were grown using the near-field electrospinning technique onto a silicon dioxide substrate. These nanofibers were several millimeters long with a diameter of about 200-400 nm. The scanning electron microscopy showed the presence of microcystallites, whose crystalline structure was evaluated by x-ray diffraction measurements after a thermal process was performed to remove the solvent used in the solution. The chemical composition was investigated by x-ray photoemission spectroscopy showing the presence of TiO(2).

Abstract: | Well-aligned TiO(2) nanofibers were grown using the near-field electrospinning technique onto a silicon dioxide substrate. The chemical composition was investigated by x-ray photoemission spectroscopy showing the presence of TiO(2). |
