Il quartiere Corviale a Roma. La mostruosa e affascinante immagine di una “città della città” nel cinema e nei nuovi media

«Polifunzionalità entro una struttura-cornice» e «evidenza megasegnica e monumentale» identificano le “megastrutture” ispirate alle fascinazioni lecorbusiane che, dagli anni Sessanta, in ambito internazionale si traducono in proposte fantascientifiche e, in Italia, in complessi di edilizia pubblica non estranei a richiami storici. Come il quartiere Corviale a Roma, che evoca gli acquedotti romani col suo celeberrimo “chilometro di problemi” protagonista di pellicole, fotografie e iniziative ospitate nei suoi infiniti spazi tra luci e ombre.

«Multifunctionality within a frame-structure» and «megasegnic and monumental evidence» identify the “megastructures” inspired by the lecorbusian fascinations that, from the Sixties, in the international sphere are translated into science-fiction proposals and, in Italy, in public buildings complexes not unrelated to historical references. Like the Corviale neighborhood in Rome, which evokes the Roman aqueducts with its famous “kilometer of problems” protagonist of films, photographs and initiatives hosted in its infinite spaces between lights and shadows.
