Abstract

The houses for the railway workers of Santa Croce in Gerusalemme constitute a peculiar intervention both for its continuity and contiguity with an urban layouts and architectural system of extraordinary quality monumental, and for the innovative characteristics of living that are the basis of the project. Features that, from the urban to the architectural scale, appear coherent and in some cases anticipating the debate on needs of society, architectural culture and the development of the city of Rome, after the building crisis of the late Nineteenth century.
