In 1939 the Bank of Italy strengthened its presence in L'Aquila by investing in the construction of three important works: a new headquarters, along the city street, the Officine Carte Valori, near the railway station and the residential district for its workers and employed in the western expansion area of the city. A triangulation on the city responding to the political, functional and image needs of the Bank. The Second World War altered the entire project, reducing the Bank's interests in the city in the following years.

Abstract
