This research aims to provide a methodological contribution to the redevelopment of small towns that characterize Italy, focusing on the topic of energy networks. The minor historical centres are the area of interest, specifically the area hit by the Abruzzo earthquake of 2009. In such contexts the compatibility and the possible implementation of renewable energy sources are evaluated, in particular those in off-grid condition. The research can develop an operational methodology linked to compatibility indicators after identifying the preconditions so that the earthquake can be understood as an “opportunity " for the recovery of the internal villages through an in-depth knowledge phase of the area of interest. The aim is to identify "site specifics" for the compatible location of energy sources. The energy networks become settings of interest, of which the characteristics and how their upgrading or replacing becomes functional for a valued building are analyzed. Now the main limitation of off-grid technology remains the storage system: the prospects for deepening and developing concerning the uptake, the accumulation and energy management systems are good. The development of the compatibility process is the basis for the next phase of the research, which aims to evaluate the quantitative results of the proposed technologies, of which the industrial market won’t ensure the future progression.

Abstract
The development of the compatibility process is the basis for the next phase of the research, which aims to evaluate the quantitative results of the proposed technologies, of which the industrial market won’t ensure the future progression.Pubblicazioni consigliate
