Abstract

-In this paper, different filtering solutions to enhance the performance of the PWM Rectifier voltage-oriented control are compared. The first strategy is based on a linear Kalman Filter, which allows for filtering the measured grid voltages. This, inturn, improves the accuracy of the phase angle and angular frequency of the grid, determined by the PLL algorithm or other methods. The second solution employs an Extended Kalman Filter to obtain the pulsation and filtered voltages, avoiding the adoption of the PLL. These two solutions are investigated in terms of dynamic behavior and computational burden. The investigation is carried out on a properly developed experimental setup.
