The concept of poverty is linked to the lack of some basic needs and poor well-being that prevent the individual from having what he needs to live in society. The premise is that those who find themselves in a state of poverty do not have the income or other economic resources necessary to maintain a quality of life that we could define as “acceptable”. Although poverty has been analyzed using monetary estimates of income and consumption, these purely economic approaches have failed to capture the concept or measure it accurately. It is well known that the right to education for children and young people contributes to their overall development and consequently lays the foundation for success in life in terms of employability, social integration, health and well-being. Education and training have the potential to play a crucial role in countering the negative effects of poverty and social exclusion. The contribution proposes a review of the main researches that have investigated the theme of educational poverty to attempt to return a synthesis of the main dimensions involved and the possibilities of measuring and contrasting this phenomenon.

Abstract
The contribution proposes a review of the main researches that have investigated the theme of educational poverty to attempt to return a synthesis of the main dimensions involved and the possibilities of measuring and contrasting this phenomenon.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
