The oxidation is an extremely important process for the animal metabolism. The energy freed during the oxidative processes and stored as ATP, is subsequently used for the several metabolic reactions of the cells. Paradoxically, although oxygen is essential for the normal metabolism of the animal, it becomes dangerous because of the several uncontrolled reactions of oxidation (self-oxidation) in the presence of oxygen or of the reactive oxygen species[1].
