The tumors of the maxilla with local aggressivity. Present diagnostic status for a surgical elective treatment

The complex connections of osseous structures and soft tissues of the maxilla made particularly difficult the staging of the tumors of the region. Valutations performed from AA in the study by MR of the malignant tumors have to appreciate the importanc of this diagnostic means for this aim. It has been done a MR study of tumor characterized by peculiar local aggressivity, that expose, according to inadeguate surgical radicality, consequently of inadeguate diagnostic data, to relapses exasperating reiterated also or to operations that are clippling excessively on the maxilla. In this study it has been studied also the very extensive and denstructive cystes of the maxilla that, in order to the soft tissues involvment, acquire the same characteristics of difficult evaluation of the extension. This research have pointed out the possibility by MR to acquire the semeiotical data very fine and probing the soft tissues involvment from these particular tumors. The integrative CT study, that lets an analytical evaluation of the involvment of skeletal structures, the staging of the tumors one’s can obtained with sufficient accurancy. A surgical treatment, at same time specific to oncological radicality and to maximal respect of the maxilla structures, that include, in limited areas, the multiple, very differentiated functions, is thus advantageously practicable.
