Facing with the evocation coming from many parts of a profound change in the study of Latin to ensure its teaching in schools and arouse the interest of students, Romance Linguistics reveals to be a fundamental discipline (but too often neglected in the ministerial provisions) for the comparative method on which it is based and its nature as a historicist discipline that allows metalinguistic reflection, with the agreement the study of Latin also to Vulgar Latin (or spoken) that constitues a fundamental part of it, through which it is also possible to understand the incessant transformation of the Roman civilization and allow an overall and non-reductive fruition, that pays attention to sociolinguistic issues.
