TEL Intervention Enhancement: The Link Between Users’ and System’s Perspectives

E-learning is becoming more and more popular for its advantages and the help it provides by making learning accessible by everyone, from everywhere and, in some cases, anytime. TEL systems allow their users to experience flexible learning experiences, but this freedom often prompts students to procrastinate and to lose control of their own path and motivation. Furthermore, the workload increase of TEL systems, also due to the pandemic emergency, makes performance issues come prominently to the surface as co-responsible of TEL intervention efficacy. In this paper, we discuss how such disadvantages are overcome in Cyber Trainer, a Cyber Security e-learning platform, with special attention to the challenges developers have to face, the benefits provided by the system technical choices, and the connection between users’ and system’s perspectives
